The online application, step by step
- Use only the destination's official site (beware of middleman sites that add a fee).
- Fill in passport details, your address of stay and flights. Have a passport scan and a card ready.
- Pay the fee and get an email approval — usually within minutes to 72 hours.
- Print the approval or keep it on your phone — it's checked at check-in and at the border.
Before you travel to Syria
- Passport validityMost countries want a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond entry, and one blank page. Check yours now, not at the airport.
- Onward ticketBorder officers and airlines may ask for proof you're leaving — a flight or bus ticket out.
- Funds & accommodationYour first night's address and a card or cash for the first few days — sometimes checked, always worth having ready.
- Middleman sitesIf an online visa is needed, apply only through the official government site. "Help" sites charge tens of dollars extra for the same form.
